Salar Smokehouse is a small, family run business situated on the shore of Loch Carnan in the Hebridean island of South Uist. From here we look out of our windows over the loch and the boats bobbing at their moorings. Northwards we look up the wild coast of Benbecula to the distant hills of North Uist, and to the east we can see over the small islands at the mouth of Loch Carnan across the Minch to the mountains of Skye, the Cuillins and MacLeod’s Tables.

It is an ever-changing scene that is always full of interest, we see the wide sky and clouds, the sea and sometimes crashing waves, there are seabirds, common seals - and occasionally even otters.

At Salar Smokehouse our dedicated and enthusiastic team use the finest ingredients, superior quality Scottish salmon from RSPCA Freedom Food approved farms, salt and seasoned oak chippings, to make delicious Salar Flaky Smoked Salmon.

Our award winning product is sold to caterers and retailers throughout the UK; we also have business customers in other countries in the EC. And by means of our popular mail order service we send Flaky Smoked Salmon all over the world.
